Rotman Auction Partners with Global Authentication for Sports Memorabilia

Sales OnLine Direct’s Rotman Auction has entered into a strategic partnership with Global Authentication Inc., and will use its sports-memorabilia authentication service. Rotman Auction holds celebrity-signing events and sells memorabilia on eBay.
Sales OnLine Direct often receives payment for Web site development and hosting services in the form of autographed sports memorabilia, which it then auctions off. Rather than issuing its own COAs (Certificates of Authentication) for the memorabilia, Rotman Auction will now have the items authenticated by Global Authentication.
Before granting a COA, a Global Authentication specialist will review the item to ascertain that it is genuine and unaltered. Each item deemed authentic will be assigned a serial number, a tamper evident label, a covert forensic marker and Global Authentication’s COA. The item then will be entered into Global Authentication’s database, which can be accessed online.
