eBay Glitch Leaves Bidders in the Cold

Some bidding activity was going unacknowledged by eBay's computer system, causing certain auctions to mistakenly close without a winning bid. Users noticed the problem on Friday afternoon and reported it on the eBay "Technical Issues" board. An eBay employee posted on the board Saturday, reporting that the problem was occurring on auctions when sellers used the "Sell Similar" feature when relisting multiple items. "We have found the issue and will be releasing a fix as soon as it is tested," said techies@ebay.com on Saturday evening. "Until we get this locked down you can avoid the problem by simply not using "sell similar" for multiple items." The problem was not posted to the eBay Systems Announcement board as of Sunday evening, and no word on if and when the problem was resolved.
