eBay is waiving initial listing fees for items added to Stores from Tuesday through Thursday. The first 30-day insertion fee for Stores inventory is free for items listed between September 30 and October 2.
Typically eBay Storeowners can list items for 30 days, or they may opt for a "Good Til Cancelled" (GTC) option that will automatically relist the items. There is a monthly 5-cent listing fee for each listing. eBay also charges a monthly fee to Storeowners (a basic store costs $9.95/month, a featured store costs $49.95/month and an anchor store costs $499.95/month). Stores items also incur a commission fee, known as a Final Value Fee. Regular auction items run for a 3- 5- or 10-day duration, whereas store items can run for 30 days (or indefinitely).
The move appears to be part of the company's push to gear up for the holiday sales season.
