Abebooks, one of the largest online marketplaces for used, rare and out-of-print books, announced a new program that helps their booksellers list books through the newly-launched Amazon.ca Marketplace. The Marketplace program, launched Wednesday, enables Canadians to easily buy and sell new, used and collectible merchandise on the same pages where Amazon.ca offers the items new. http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y03/m11/i06/s01
The initiative makes the vast selection of used and rare books offered by Abebooks’ booksellers available to customers in Canada through the Amazon.ca Marketplace program.
The optional Abebooks program uploads books to Amazon.ca, simplifies order processing, and pays booksellers each week for books sold. Abebooks already lists books for booksellers on Amazon Marketplace programs in the United States, United Kingdom and Germany.
Abebooks said its site offers over 45 million books listed by 12,000 booksellers. It also has strategic partnerships with Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and eBay/Half.com.
