ePier Holds 4 Days of Free Online-Auction Trading for Sellers
By Ina Steiner AuctionBytes.com January 06, 2004
Just as eBay sellers are fuming over eBay's fee increases announced Monday, online auction site ePier announced a 4-day promotion for its sellers. ePier will waive Final Value Fees for items listed between today, January 6 through January 9. ePier never charges listing fees, so sellers will pay no fees to ePier for items listed during the 4 day promotional period.
ePier also recently announced it is starting off the new year with a fresh new look and new tools. James Kim, President of ePier, said, "Our new logo embodies the fun spirit of our community and the boxes represent packages that are sent to buyers." ePier also added the ability for sellers to add up to 5 images per listing, for free.
Kim shared his plans for the New Year with members on the ePier Announcement Board:
"Our goals for the new year is to do more advertising and to have over 20,000 of us members pay at least $100 during the whole year. This will give us the strength and the budget to grow more rapidly. Our greatest cause of growth is you. We cannot do what we are doing without your strong support and word of mouth. And we have developed a simple way for you to invite even more of your friends to our growing ePier community. Through http://friends.epier.com you can easily invite many friends by typing them to a list of up to 12 and sending an invitation message."
Meanwhile, some eBay sellers said they plan to cut back on listings on eBay because they feel the new increases in fees are too high. On eBay's Discuss New Features (DNF) discussion area, some members mentioned alternative venues, like ePier and Yahoo Auctions.
