InnoCentive Gives Scientists Access to eBay Marketplace

InnoCentive announced an agreement with eBay in which it will promote laboratory-related eBay listings to the more than 50,000 scientists and scientific institutions registered as InnoCentive Solvers in 150 countries. The InnoCentive Web site will feature a direct link to eBay's Test & Measurement and Laboratory equipment categories.
The press announcement stated Test & Measurement and Laboratory equipment are among eBay's fast-growing Business and Industrial categories, with an annual U.S. gross merchandise sales of over $63 million, based on Q3 2003.
InnoCentive is an online forum that brings together leading global corporations and scientists from across the globe to solve tough research and development (R&D) challenges. Global companies including BASF, Dow Chemical, Eli Lilly and Company, and Procter & Gamble post their tough R&D problems confidentially on the InnoCentive Web site where leading scientists and scientific organizations can solve them. Scientists who deliver solutions that best meet InnoCentive's Challenge requirements receive a financial award for their work, ranging up to USD $100,000.
