Reading AuctionBytes: Just Glass Celebrates Six Years Online

January 2004 marks the six-year-anniversary for the popular glass-related Web site, Just Glass. The service was originally started as an auction site, and changed its format to a fixed-price Web site several years ago.

“We noticed more and more online auctions popping up, and people asking for 30 day classifieds mixed in with the auction listings,” said site co-owner Reyne Haines. “It wasn’t long after we introduced fixed price listings that dealers began using that option most of the time.”

“It seems like such a short time ago we were an online auction with 30 categories," said Rosemary Trietsch, co-owner of Just Glass. "Six years later we are an online magazine, leader in glass reproduction information and website with over 45 dealer shops and gaining new dealers each month!”

Over time, Just Glass began offering restoration information, upcoming show schedules, articles on a variety of glass collecting, and reproduction information. They turned this information into a monthly online magazine (www.justglass-online.com). Each month Just Glass publishes new articles, mystery items for identification by readers, new information on reproductions, and information about museums with large glass collections.

“We look forward to expanding again in 2004,” said Haines. “For the glass enthusiast, there’s a lot more to come.”
