Drop N Run opened its first eBay drop-off store in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Drop N Run is targeting four types of business: consumer sales, business liquidation, fundraising and franchising (forthcoming in 2004). eBay drop-off stores, which sell items on eBay for consumers who drop the items off at retail locations, have been springing up since 2003. Drop N Run charges no listing fee and a commission based on the item’s final sale price. Glen Crane, co-founder of Drop N Run, said the company plans to open a second store in the third quarter of 2004.
