Andale restructured pricing for its online auction management services, leaving most base subscription prices the same, but charging more for "overage" fees. Munjal Shah, Andale's CEO, said the changes will help Andale better plan its capacity requirements.
Andale charges a base fee for Images, Lister and Gallery services. The base fee covers a certain range of services in a month; if a user goes over the limit, they are charged an "overage" fee. For example, if a user signs up for Images, they can choose a 5 MB plan for $5/month. If they exceed the 5MB, they would have to pay $1.50 extra for each MB they used over the initial 5 MB. Under the new plan, they will pay $1.75 extra. For people who sign up for 40 listings a month using Andale's Lister service, they will still pay $7.50/month, but if they go over 40 listings, they will pay 30 cents per additional listing instead of 18 cents.
Andale increased its Research and What's Hot tools, raising the fees for each product from $2.95/month to $3.95/month. Andale eliminated fees for Feedback and Refunds services.
Andale is also introducing free "starter" plans for Images, Lister and Gallery. Beginning February 1, users will be able to get 1 MG of Image Hosting, 10 Listings and/or 10 Checkout free from Andale. Andale will continue to offer free auction counters and free sourcing.
