When the Chief of Police in Starke, Florida, was required by law to auction a dedicated K-9, due to the military activation of one of his handlers and budget restraints, he turned to GovAssets4sale for assistance. Chief Gordon Smith restricted the auction to Law Enforcement agencies. After receiving nationwide calls and bids, the most suitable home for his 5-year old Sheppard with dual certification in criminal patrol and narcotics was found in Florida. GovAssets4sale handled all aspects of the transaction, and in November 2003, Chief of Police Daniel Swogger and Officer John McMullen welcomed “Huro” to the ranks of the Cedar Key Police Department.
