Seven public radio stations raised a combined total of $960,000 in 2003 without ever interrupting on-air programming. Working with Nancy Kruse and Partners, the stations hosted two-week online auctions that netted both needed fundraising dollars and enthusiastic positive feedback from participants.
Nancy Kruse and Partners worked with KPBS (San Diego), MPR (St. Paul/Minneapolis), WABE (Atlanta), WCAI/WNAN (Cap Cod/Nantucket), WETA (Washington, DC), WGBH (Boston), and WYPR (Baltimore). Each station had its own auction Web site branded with its name and logo and including items reflecting local interests as well as those directly connected to public radio’s on-air programming. Nancy Kruse and Partners was founded in 2001. The firm will add 11 stations to its client roster in 2004.
