More eBay Drop-off Stores Open in Kansas, Colorado, California

AuctionYard has opened an eBay drop-off store in Wichita, Kansas, e-Auction Depot opened in Lenexa, Kansas, The Easy Auction Shop Inc. opened in Denver, Colorado, and ePowersellers-Cal opened in Granada Hills, California. The three businesses are the latest stores to offer consignment services to consumers who don't want to sell on eBay themselves. Many also offer to help local schools and non-profits with fund-raising efforts by setting up eBay auctions for donated goods. Drop-off stores typically offer a free or low-fee service to list items on eBay, and charge a percentage of the selling price.
California has become a hot-spot of competition for drop-off stores, with chains such as AuctionDrop and even a franchise called QuikDrop. QuikDrop announced Tuesday that Charles Perkins has entered into a contract to open 97 QuikDrop franchise stores in California, Oregon, Arizona and Nevada. His first QuikDrop Store in Palm Springs, California will open February 23. Last week, AuctionStop Inc. entered into a contract to open 24 QuikDrop stores in Southern California and held a grand-opening celebration at its first location in Simi Valley, California, on Saturday.
