eBay Expands Title Field to 55 Characters

eBay has expanded the Title field to 55 characters. Previously eBay sellers were limited to 45 characters of text in a listing title. The default search on eBay is Title-only searches, so sellers try to cram the most effective keywords into that one field. eBay has also added 10 characters to the Subtitle field, which is visible when browsing but is not searchable. The Subtitle field is optional and costs 50 cents per listing. eBay said its Turbo Lister and Seller's Assistant tools will support the longer Title when it releases new updates in about a week.
