Reading AuctionBytes: Signed Original Cartoons for Sale on Online Auction Site Bid4Assets

Original cartoons by Pulitzer Prize winner Doug Marlette and "off the mark" cartoonist Mark Parisi are for sale on the Bid4Assets’ online auction site.

Six Doug Marlette editorial cartoons are up for auction and include hysterical elements such as spoofs on current political news, election year follies and many other trendy political events. Each auction has a minimum bid of $400. Doug Marlette’s well-known comic strip, Kudzu, is syndicated in hundreds of newspapers worldwide.

Five Mark Parisi original cartoons are up for auction, each with a minimum bid of $150. Parisi does a weekly music cartoon for Billboard Magazine called Rim Shots. "Off the mark" runs in over 100 newspapers and has spawned a line of greeting cards, books, tee shirts, and some other interesting stuff. The online auctions are now open for bidding and have staggered close dates starting March 16, 2004, through March 19, 2004, on the Bid4Assets Web site, http://www.bid4assets.com/cartoons.

"We are thrilled to provide die hard comic fans the opportunity to bid on original signed cartoons such as these being offered," said Bid4Assets Vice President of Marketing and Corporate-wide Communications Jenny Lynch. Bid4Assets is a leading online auction site where serious buyers and sellers meet to find high-end assets from government, non-profits and private industry, including unique and high-value items from the U.S. Marshals Service.
