eBay Category Rollups Coming to Books & Magazines

eBay will initiate Category Rollups in the Books & Magazines category by eliminating sub-categories. This change will occur in Mid-April. This is part of eBay's initiative to rollout Item Specifics across certain categories to make it easier for buyers to find what they need. While Item Specifics are not required, listings that do not use Item Specifics will not appear to buyers who use the Product Finder. eBay said the magazine subscriptions, wholesale, and book accessories categories will retain their current structure.

eBay will host a Town Hall event with Michael Dearing, VP of Marketing and Merchandising, on March 31 to discuss the strategy behind this and other recent category changes. In addition, eBay is holding a Books & Entertainment Webinar to discuss these category changes on March 25.
