eBay announced changes it says will make buying and selling in the Books, Movies, Music, & Video Games categories easier. eBay will also give Stores listings more exposure on the main eBay.com Search function. The changes will rollout in the coming months.
eBay will create an "Express" Sell Your Item form for sellers listing using Pre-fill Item Information. To use it, sellers will enter the ISBN/UPC, price and condition, and the rest of the listing will be automatically created. The Entertainment category on eBay has been undergoing significant changes in the past few weeks (http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abu/y204/m03/abu0115/s03). The area has been receiving attention in part due to Half.com's scheduled closing in July 2004.
eBay will also roll out "Express Product Search," which will display specific product titles in selected Books, Movies, Music, and Video Games categories. By clicking on a product title, buyers can then see the listings that were created with Pre-Filled Item Information that match. http://www.ebay.com/epsmockup
eBay also said its Search function, which is available from the navigation bar at the top of any eBay page, will correct common typos. And now it will include listings from Stores in cases where a keyword search on eBay.com returns 10 or fewer listings (http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jsp?forum=21&thread=410071761)
