eBay Works on Category Rollup Issues
By Ina Steiner

eBay will make changes to its selling tools affecting the listing process in rolled-up categories, where some of the lower levels of the category structure have been removed in favor of Item Specifics. eBay's announcement explained, "Prior to this change, sellers listing in a rolled-up category who use eBay Seller Tools such as Turbo Lister, Seller's Assistant Basic or Pro, etc., had to change the category ID for each of their items before they could be listed on the site. Once this change is introduced, items will automatically be redirected to the appropriate new category, even if they have not been updated by the seller." eBay said it will hold an online discussion with Michael Dearing, eBay's VP of Marketing and Merchandising, to discuss eBay's category strategy. The event will take place March 31 at 13:00 PST.
