eBay Adds 'Going Going Gone' Filter to Pull-Down Box

eBay eliminated certain search filters when it rolled out changes to its Search and Browse pages last Tuesday. On Friday, eBay said it would add the search filter functionality back in, though in a different format - a pull-down box instead of a clickable link.

Last week eBay eliminated "Going, Going, Gone," "Ending Today" and "New Today" functions. These options had appeared prominently at the top of search and browse pages so shoppers could sort results by auction timing with one click and eliminate listings that did not apply. Instead, eBay said users would have to sort by a pull-down menu and view everything else in the category they're browsing.

On Friday, eBay said it would add back controls that let users filter by time, after some eBay members had complained on the "Discuss New Features" and Search Discussion Board their dislike of the new system, particularly the lack of the "Going, Going, Gone" filter. Now, eBay said it will add back the filters, which will be located in a drop-down menu in the Search Options section on the left-hand side of the listing results page.
