A new online auction venue goes live today. BondedSale.com is a new site that will hold special 6-day auctions of antiques and collectibles. The service promises to qualify each participating seller. BondedSale.com is a joint venture of The Hartford Financial Services Group, buySAFE, auction site ePier and online antiques-mall TIAS.com. This is the first time Web sites have joined together to offer guaranteed auction transactions in a controlled setting.

The first auction begins April 27 and will run for 6 days. As auction lots are listed over the next 2 weeks, collectors are invited to preview items that have never been offered for sale online by these sellers before.

Every participating seller has been prescreened at no charge by buySAFE and then bonded by The Hartford Financial Services Group. Because all sellers will be bonded, every item will be guaranteed for up to $10,000. The bond provides that The Hartford will refund the item sale price or replace the item in the event the seller does not fulfill the terms of the auction sale.
