Andale Rolls Out Tools for eBay Australia

Andale launched some new international services Tuesday for users of eBay Australia. Andale Australia is initially offering Andale Lister and Andale Images, which will be followed in the coming months with its Andale Gallery and Andale Counters Pro products. Andale is a U.S.-based company that provides auction-management tools and services for online sellers. Since signing an agreement with eBay in 2000, Andale has provided free counters for eBay users.

Andale Australia said it is offering a free promo of Andale Lister and Andale Images through the end of April to celebrate the launch. Andale Lister helps sellers create auction listings without having to know HTML, and allows sellers to schedule eBay listings up to 6 months in advance. Andale Images is an image-hosting service for including photographs in eBay listings. (The promotion is for Andale Australia users.)

Andale Australia is the company's third international site, joining Andale Germany, launched over 18 months ago, and Andale UK, launched over a year ago. Andale's Senior Marketing Manager Erin Collopy said the international sites allow Andale to customize products like Andale Checkout in order to provide for the local currency, shipping addresses and postal carriers. She said, "we offer the eBay Germany seller a complete German language site with products targeted to their needs, which is different than some other companies who support launching to eBay Germany, but expect sellers to use an English-language site."

Each international offering is a stand-alone service. "Our current offering does not let you list to eBay US, eBay Germany and eBay UK from a single account," Collopy said. "We require that users register for an account on the Andale site corresponding to the eBay market they need to sell on. For example, with Andale Australia, I can sell on eBay.au, even though I'm physically in another country."

Collopy said the products have been received well internationally. "We've seen more uptake in Germany than the UK, which is inline with the size difference of those two markets. Both markets are hungry for tools, and our Research products have done especially well in Germany, in addition to Lister Pro, our client-side listing tool." (Those tools are not yet available in the UK.)

Last month Andale launched Business@Andale, a site targeting larger U.S. eBay sellers.
