Andale co-founder Munjal Shah has stepped down from his position as president of the company, and Andale named Linda Hayes new president and CEO. In April 1999, Shah co-founded Andale, which offers auction-management tools for online sellers and is an eBay Preferred Service Provider.
Hayes has been with Andale since mid-2000 and has been Chief Operating Officer since 2001. As COO, Hayes managed product strategy, sales and marketing and was instrumental in driving the company's revenue growth. In addition, she also spearheaded all aspects of the Company's corporate communications efforts, including overall vision and strategy.
"It was five years ago that a group of us started Andale and having not only survived, but built a profitable company through the dotcom boom and bust," said Munjal Shah. "I am proud of our achievements at Andale, but I am now ready to move on to new opportunities. I have no doubt that Linda will continue to build on Andale's success and strengthen its position in the marketplace.”
Under 5 years of Shah's leadership, Andale has raised over $60 million in financing, launched sites in Germany, UK and Australia, and, in 2003, Andale moved much of its operations from Mountain View, California to Bangalore, India.
Theresia Gouw Ranzetta, General Partner at Accel Partners and member of Andale’s Board of Directors, said "Munjal has done an outstanding job of growing Andale from its inception to a profitable company. The Board of Directors believes that Linda has the skill set and experience needed to take the business to the next level."
She continued, "I have been, and continue to be, impressed with Linda. Her strong business background, understanding of Andale’s business and her customer focus make her the perfect fit for this role."
Shah will remain a member of Andale's Board of Directors and will devote more time to his new entrepreneurial ventures.
