eBay Charity Auction to Benefit Disabled Online Users Association

An eBay PowerSeller is auctioning an autograph of eBay's highest-feedback seller to support an organization devoted to helping the disabled learn how to sell on eBay.

Skip McGrath is an eBay Powerseller and President of Vision One Press, a publisher of books on how to sell on eBay. He is selling an autograph of Jay Senese, one half of eBay's number-one selling duo (JayandMarie, formerly onecentcds@aol.com), along with a "JayandMarie" pin. McGrath will donate the proceeds of the auction to the Disabled Online Users Association (DOUA), a non-profit organization to help the differently-abled sell online.

"Starting and running an eBay business is a challenge for anyone, but this challenge is even greater for disabled persons," said McGrath. "DOUA provides a platform and an organization where eBay professionals can give something back. I hope my pin auction generates more exposure for DOUA as well as raising a few dollars for their efforts."

Jay Senese said although he and his wife Marie are asked to sign autographs at eBay events, he was surprised to see his autograph being auctioned on eBay. "I guess you could say that, if any eBay seller is a celebrity, perhaps it is Marie and I. We were one of the first I was aware of to put our pictures up onto our site. I think some people are inspired that Marie and I have made this eBay thing work for us, and we've done it without gimmicks."

The Seneses started their eBay business in early 1999 and have reigned as eBay’s number one volume seller for years.

"It's incredible to see these spontaneous acts of support for DOUA," said Marjie Smith, founder of DOUA. "These kinds of gestures show the power of the eBay community at work. We're fortunate to have so many sellers, buyers and companies behind us."

More information about the DOUA and its Helping Hand Program can be found at the DOUA Web site at http://www.doua.info
