eBay drop-off store iSold It has launched what may be the first-ever national mail-in eBay service. The program, called iSold It by Mail, allows customers from anywhere in the country to get their items listed on eBay. Customers print a registration form from the Web site and mail it with their item to the closest iSold It franchise store for processing. iSold It has a location in Pasadena, with another opening in San Antonio today.
Upon receipt of the item, the iSold It franchise store photographs the item, lists it for sale on eBay, then ships the item to the winning bidder. All items by mail are listed with a $9.99 starting price. Once the transaction is complete, the seller is mailed a check. If the item doesn't sell, the store either donates it to charity or mails it back to the customer.
"We have received overwhelming interest from people all over the country who want to take advantage of iSold It," says Elise Wetzel, Founder and President of iSold It. "With our new mail in service, we can help customers anywhere sell their items on eBay."
Customers pay nothing to list their merchandise with iSold It. Sellers are paid the winning bid amount, less iSold Its commission, eBay fees and payment processing fees. The seller typically receives a check between 65% and 86% of the final selling price. Items accepted under the mail-in program need to be valued at $50 or more and must be small enough to ship by UPS, Fed Ex or the Post Office.
iSold It is registered to sell franchises in 47 states and currently has nearly 100 stores under contract. iSold It, LLC is a privately held company funded in part by the founders of Wetzel's Pretzels, a chain of fresh baked pretzel stores with over 200 locations.
