This is my third eBay Live!, but my first as a PowerSeller (PS). After registration, I hiked (and I do mean this was quite a walk) to the PS desk to receive my PS ribbon, now 1 of 6 hanging off my badge, and special gift. The gift, a great PS logo tote bag, is already filled with conference stuff. Across from the PS desk, I spotted a Business Center with computers and meeting tables for PS use only. However, at the time of my visit, the Business Center was not yet operational.
Next, I hiked (and I do mean this was quite a walk) downstairs in search of the PS Lounge. In addition to comfy chairs, refreshments, and great networking opportunities, I found the following:
PS Logo Merchandise
Pictures of eBay and PayPal PS Support Staff
Information on the eBay Co-Op Advertising Program, Marsh Health Care Solutions, and Fidelity Retirement Plans
PS Profiles and Best Practices
PS Special Conference Guide
Computers (Note: These had the longest lines, but probably because the PowerSeller merchandise was not yet for sale!)
The PS lounge is located next to the Solutions Center, which will be very handy when the exhibits open up later today.
Next stop, the PS orientation conducted by Shira Levine, the eBay PS Program Manager. Many of the 100+ eBay staff dedicated to PS support attended orientation, but gave up their seats to accommodate the overflow PS attendance. Per Shira, 1/3 of all eBay Live! classes and activities are geared to Advanced Sellers, with 10 sessions specific to PS. I will attend and write an AuctionBytes summary of the PS session, Security Q&A with Rob Chestnut, tomorrow.
The Solutions Center will have a Seller Scalability Center, with special PS access, to meet one-one-one with eBay staff to define an action plan (called actionable next steps in eBay speak) for business growth.
Special conference features are also available to a new eBay seller category, Top Seller (TS). A TS has an average of $1,000 in GMS (gross merchandise sales) for 3 months. This criterion, same minimum as PS, allows high-volume sellers who are not members of the PS program, to benefit from advanced seller conference features.
