Scot Wingo, President and CEO of ChannelAdvisor, was named 2004 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the Technology category at the Carolinas' award gala held on June 17. Wingo has also written a book to be released in August called, "eBay Strategies: 10 Proven Methods to Maximize Your eBay Business."
The book is organized around ChannelAdvisor's proprietary framework to optimize profitable selling on eBay. Wingo says it incorporates the five most important variables in building and maintaining a successful eBay business: Product, Price, Promotion, Placement and Performance. The book is published by Prentice Hall Professional Technical Reference and will be available through major chain and independent booksellers nationwide and through online vendors.
ChannelAdvisor Corporation also announced it appointed Tim Buckley, former COO of Red Hat to its board of directors. Prior to Red Hat, Buckley was the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Seattle-based Visio Corp., which was acquired by Microsoft in 1999. Buckley has been instrumental in building some of the most successful start-ups in the computing industry, including Aldus, the company that created PageMaker, and Approach, a PC database company that was later sold to Lotus Development Corp.
