Bidville Inc. released a statement to say it has reached 500,000 registered members, up from 70,000 in January. The online auction site, which is an alternative to eBay, has no listing fees and began an aggressive marketing campaign at the beginning of 2004.
Bidville CEO Michael Palandro said, "We are extremely pleased and excited with the continued level of growth in Bidville's registrations and website activities. The current rate of registrations is exceeding the Company's business plan forecast of 250,000 and 620,000 registrations for the years ending 2004 and 2005 respectively."
