eBay Font Glitch Has Users Squinting, eBay Starts Feedback Upgrade

eBay chat boards began displaying text in an extra small font on Monday, and the problem spread to users' auction descriptions. One of eBay's first posts in the Technical Issues board did not capture the full extent of the problem (http://digbig.com/4bkba), and no alert was posted on the eBay System Announcement Board as of Tuesday evening. Yesterday eBay announced it was changing the way the item description area of the view item page displays (http://www2.ebay.com:80/aw/marketing.shtml#2004-07-12105643), there's no confirmation if the glitch is related to that change.

eBay also said it was beginning a process to upgrade the underlying architecture of the Feedback system that would last several weeks. eBay warned some users might "experience intermittent system issues such as feedback pages not loading, slow feedback pages, or problems leaving feedback." As a part of the upgrade, eBay said it was making the look-and-feel for replying to feedback or creating follow-up comments consistent with the new Member Profile design released in January 2004. http://www2.ebay.com:80/aw/marketing.shtml#2004-07-13152920
