Online Auction Service Marketworks Appoints Three Top Executives
By Ina Steiner AuctionBytes.com July 22, 2004
Online-auction management service Marketworks, formerly Auctionworks, announced it has strengthened its Senior Management team by adding three new positions. Doug Hadaway is the company's new Chief Financial Officer, Tina Reese is Vice President of Global Sales, and Masami Suzuki is the new Vice President of Marketing.
Marketworks facilitates over $25 million a month in gross merchandise sales and is a leading provider of sales automation software and marketing services for eBay sellers.
"As we expand internationally and grow our customer base, the profile of our customer is changing," explains Alec Peters, CEO and founder of Marketworks. "The small business client is looking to sell in new online markets, and we are dealing with more enterprise customers that require a different level of service offering. With these three strategic hires, we can focus on fulfilling the expanding needs of our customers and concurrently solidify top line revenue growth for Marketworks."
Doug Hadaway, a seasoned CFO, brings 19 years of strategy and finance experience in mergers and acquisitions and international business to Marketworks. In his last three CFO positions, all in the technology space and most recently with Synchrologic, Hadaway has played a significant role in the successful acquisition of each rapid growth company.
Known for building high performance sales teams to accelerate sales growth is what Tina Reese, Vice President of Global Sales, brings to Marketworks. With over 12 years of experience serving in senior positions for leading global technology companies, Reese's expertise goes far beyond process improvements to help companies refine their organizational structure, product lines, sourcing, sales channels and market position.
In the new position of Vice President of Marketing, Masami Suzuki relocated from Northern California to Atlanta, and is charged with driving corporate and product marketing activities to establish Marketworks as the leading multi-channel online selling provider. Prior to joining Marketworks, Suzuki served as VP of Marketing for Connection to eBay, a joint venture between Accenture and eBay that offered end-to-end services to enterprises for selling on eBay.
