Club99SYI, a group of independent online-auction sellers dedicated to having fun and promoting their auctions on SellYourItem.com (SYI), is holding a contest for the funniest auction as part of their August 99-cent sales event.
Participating sellers in the monthly sales event launch a minimum of five auctions at a 99-cent opening bid on the SYI site. Goods up for auction typically include collectibles, household goods, handcrafts and other unique items. Founded in April 2001, SellYourItem.com is a privately held company in Tampa Bay, Florida.
During the August Club99SYI event, sellers and bidders may win prizes. The seller whose auction is judged the funniest will receive a special set of items with the SellYourItem logo, donated by SYI seller jimala. The bidder who wins the most auctions will receive a Memorex TS1100 Spill-Proof Keyboard from SYI seller siamese3. A buyer chosen at random will receive a twin quilt of his or her choice courtesy of SYI seller quiltsnbeyond. And SellYourItem.com will donate a home page banner ad to the seller whose qualifying auction closes for the highest selling price.
The Club99SYI Sales Event and Funny Auction contest will run July 31 through August 7 on sellyouritem.com. To view the contest auctions, go to auction site sellyouritem.com and search for auctions with the keywords "funny SYI99" (in quotes) in their title. Contest winners will be posted in the Club99 Lounge by August 12.
