PayPal introduced its services on eBay France and announced the availability of a fully localized Web site (https://www.paypal.fr) designed exclusively for French users. The launch of PayPal France follows the recent introduction of the service on eBay sites in Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland. eBay said integrating PayPal facilitate cross-border trade and enable payments in five currencies: the U.S. dollar, the Canadian dollar, the yen, the euro and the British pound.
"We're extremely excited to launch the PayPal service in France, because we've already seen the demand for a secure, convenient payment service within our eBay community," said Alex Kazim, vice president of marketing and business development for PayPal. "PayPal's recent growth in Europe is a significant step in our global expansion. We look forward to providing our customers around the world with a safe, easy and cost-effective online payment service to help them do business locally and abroad."
PayPal France is provided by PayPal (Europe) Limited, a UK regulated entity authorized by the Financial Services Authority as an electronic money institution. The site is written in French, with content customized for the local market, and defaults to preferred funding options for French users.
