eBay Tweaks: Edit Payment Totals & Unfinished Listings Saved in SYI

eBay will be introducing the ability for sellers to choose whether to make the total payment amount for an item editable or not. Prior to this change, the payment total could be edited for any item if the buyer used the "Seller discounts or charges" field on the Review Purchase page of the payment process. In the next few days, by setting the "Buyer Edit Option" to "off," sellers will be able to prevent this field from appearing, as long as they have stated the shipping cost for the item or have used the Shipping Calculator. The option will be found within the preferences section of My eBay. To set the option to "off," uncheck the box next to "Allow my buyers to edit the total during payment to account for additional costs or discounts." eBay noted that, in some cases, it may be beneficial to allow buyers to edit the total payment amount.

eBay also announced a new feature to help sellers listing items using the Sell Your Item (SYI) form. Members who start to list an item but are unable to complete the listing at the time may now save the completed portions. Sellers will be able to complete their unfinished listing by signing into their Seller's Account and going to the Sell Hub where they will see a link that lets them complete the listing. The Title & Description page must have been completed, and sellers must not have listed other items since the last session. The unfinished listing will be saved for 30 days. Note: If you choose to start a new listing, your previous unfinished listing will no longer be available once you complete the Title & Description page for your new list.
