Andale Inc., a leading provider of eBay market intelligence and auction-management services, has named Janet George Vice President of Product Management and Marketing, a new position within the company. Overseeing the product management and marketing organizations, George will be spearheading the company's product and go-to-market strategies and is chartered with growing the company's top line revenues and market share.
George was previously part of the senior management team in the product organization at eBay and was instrumental in the market research, competitive analysis and scope of key strategic initiatives like eBay stores, eBay message center, Row expansion project, picture services and seamless integration of PayPal.
Andale also named Phil Steffora to Vice President of Technical Operations. As the Vice President of Technical Operations, Mr. Steffora is responsible for providing the very highest level of service to Andale's customers, by ensuring that their service is fast and reliable. The Andale site receives more than 200 million hits per day with traffic in excess of 200 megabytes per second. In addition, Mr. Steffora is responsible for the company's Information Technology infrastructure including all production, internal and telephony systems.
Prior to joining Andale, Mr. Steffora was Vice President of Technical Operations at Mailblocks, Inc., an Internet mail startup, where he built the company's technical operations from the ground up, and Metromedia Fiber Network (MFN), where he served first as Vice President of Global Datacenter Operations. Previously, Mr. Steffora held senior management positions at AltaVista, where he was responsible for all technical operations of the premiere search engine during its first four years of operations.
