eBay will make changes to its Pre-Fill Item Information feature, also known as "catalog," in late September. For eBay sellers listing in the Books, Movies, Music, and Video Games categories that offer Pre-filled Item Information, the dropdown selector during the SYI process will be removed, and sellers can enter the information in the field provided. Search results will allow sellers to narrow results to find information about the item they are listing. Finally, sort options will be available in a drop-down menu. eBay said sellers in Cell Phones, PDAs, and Digital Cameras in the Consumer Electronics category will not be affected by most of these changes.
eBay is also introducing a new Buy Hub, a portal page that will act as a starting point for buying-related activities (http://pages.ebay.com/preview/iatd/index.html). As part of this project, the current Browse button found at the top of almost every eBay page will be renamed to "Buy."
The new Buy Hub page, which looks similar to the current Browse page, includes a search box as well as additional buying-related links and features, including more links to categories; access to buying reminders from My eBay; new shortcuts to Favorite sellers, searches & categories from My eBay; and alerts when an item on a Watch list is ending soon.
