Online-auction site eBid said due to "phenomenal" growth in the UK, it will launch a site in the U.S. and will add six other international sites in France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Canada and Australia over the next 2 years. eBid's announcement said the company is the UK's second largest online-auction site.
eBid, founded in March 1999, charges sellers no listing fee or commission fees. (Revenues are generated via optional featured extras.) eBid predicted U.S. and UK members would trade with each other, and referenced its online payment partner PPPay.com as a way to make convenient cross-currency transactions.
