Baby, Crafts and Health & Beauty Gain Prominence on eBay UK
By Ina Steiner

eBay UK said it will begin promoting three new categories on the eBay.co.uk homepage: Baby, Crafts and Health & Beauty. The Baby category and Crafts category, currently known as Art & Crafts: Sewing, are each being promoted from the Home, Garden & Family category, which will be renamed Home & Garden. The Health & Beauty category, currently known as Personal Care, will be promoted from the Clothes, Shoes & Accessories category.

The categories are being added to the homepage on October 12 because of their size and rapid growth, according to the company. eBay UK will also be "significantly expanding the structure of these categories in order to make it easier for buyers to find items listed in them."

Sellers are warned that, as a result of the changes, items that are listed in Baby, Art & Crafts: Sewing or Personal Care when the new structure rolls out may be automatically moved into a new sub-category. "We would suggest that sellers check any live listings on or after October 12th."
