AuctionPay to Help Online-Auction Fundraising through cMarket

cMarket said it will integrate AuctionPay's payment processing into its application. cMarket offers online-auction fundraising services. Auctionpay provides customized payment processing and fundraising solutions for nonprofit events.

The companies said their partnership is the first step towards fully integrating Web-based fundraising with live fundraising events. While traditionally dominated by in-room, "live" events, the industry is seeing growing interest in online auctions that start the bidding process online prior to the event. cMarket and AuctionPay say this helps attract a wider audience, helping some organizations raise thousands of dollars in bids via the Web before the live auction even begins.

Nonprofits that already have utilized cMarket and Auctionpay's services include PONCHO, the largest arts fundraising organization, Madison Durfer Trust Fund and the Cohasset Education Foundation.

Auctionpay currently works with more than 1,500 nonprofit organizations across the country, has processed more than $100 million in donations to date. It received $7.5 million in venture funding in May 2004.

cMarket has grown its customer base to more than 150 customers and is approaching its 300th auction since it began marketing in 2004. It has received over $11 million in funding, led by Morningside Technology Ventures.
