Macromedia announced a customized version of its Contribute 3 software for eBay Store sellers. Contribute 3 for eBay will allow sellers to create and customize an eBay Store without requiring technical knowledge. The new version will be available in mid-November for $99.

eBay Stores is an optional service eBay provides to sellers on a subscription basis, starting at $9.95/month (listing and commission fees also apply). eBay Stores include Store Inventory items, which are additional fixed price (Buy It Now) items not available in regular search results and categories on eBay (http://stores.ebay.com/).

eBay Store sellers will be able to create and manage their store from within the new Macromedia application. The software includes step-by-step wizards, so any eBay user can quickly design and publish a professional store featuring logos, images, descriptions, product categories, product showcases, and product search. The software also includes over 800 professionally designed templates for common eBay Store pages.

A detailed article on specific product features is available in the Macromedia Developer Center (http://www.macromedia.com/go/ebay_contribute).

Existing Contribute 3 users will be able to add this functionality by downloading a free extension from the WebAssist Web site. ComputerWeekly reports that WebAssist, which developed the application, is developing a similar eBay extension to Macromedia's Dreamweaver software for building Web sites that will be available this month for under $200.

Macromedia is a member of the eBay Developers Program. eBay sellers can sign up to be notified when the product is available.
