eBay launched a new service for users to view popular searches, Stores and products on the auction site. eBay Pulse is updated daily and also lists the highest-priced items and most watched items across eBay.

In addition to viewing results across the eBay.com site, users can also narrow down the results by category. For example, on Tuesday, the top three most popular searches across all categories on eBay were cd, silver and dvd. Viewers can drill down and discover the most popular searches in the Antiques category; heading the list on Tuesday were silver, fabric and gold. Users can continue to drill down further in the Antiques category to find the most popular searches.

The most popular Stores are actually Stores with the most inventory, according to the eBay Pulse help file (http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/ebay-pulse.html). And popular products include only those products that were listed with Pre-Filled Item Information.

In addition to its top lists and other item listing details, eBay said the eBay Pulse feature offers pop culture information, overall buying trends, fun facts about eBay, and other eBay-related news.

"With online commerce so prevalent during the holidays, eBay Pulse can give our members a quick and easy way to see pricing trends, what's hot and popular gift suggestions," said Jim Griffith, eBay's online shopping expert and dean of eBay Education.
