Online auction site Bidville announced Thursday the official launch of Bidville Stores, which has been in beta testing since late October. Bidville sellers have already opened nearly 500 storefronts under the beta program.
Bidville storeowners can customize their stores and list auction and fixed-price items in the stores. They can also use their own URL. Bidville's CEO Michael Palandro said, "The Bidville Stores functionality has enabled the integration of the storefronts with the Bidville Search option, as well as provides each store with a shopping cart for buyers to combine purchases per store."
Starting January 1, 2005, the fees to open and operate a Bidville Store will be $5 per month for a basic Store or $10 per month for a featured store. There are no listing fees, but commission fees apply. Featured stores have increased visibility on the site by appearing on a rotating basis on the Browse Home Page, Browse Categories Pages, Search Result Pages and Store Home Page, as well as appearing first in Bidville Storefront listings.
