Local Classifieds Site LiveDeal Unveils 'Triple Free Pricing'

LiveDeal, a leading marketplace for buying and selling goods locally, unveiled its Triple Free pricing policy this week. The new policy enables consumers to post classified listings for free; build ecommerce stores for free; and lock in a "Free for Life" membership. The Free for Life program allows free listings for the life of the store, provided the store maintains a minimum of 10 active For-Sale items on LiveDeal each month. The free listings-for-life offer is applicable to all For-Sale Items with a listing price of $500 or less.

LiveDeal enables consumers to interact and transact at the local level, while still being able to post and search items nationally and globally. LiveDeal is powered by patent-pending technology that lets consumers sort and view items according to a particular city, state or zip code. LiveDeal says its marketplace is especially ideal for consumers buying and selling bulky or big-ticket items such as furniture, cars and appliances because it eliminates prohibitive shipping costs, reduces fraud and makes "trying before you buy" a reality.

LiveDeal was founded by Rajesh Navar, a member of eBay's original engineering team and a pioneer in the Internet search and e-commerce space. Navar said, "While eBay has done well to connect members nationally and internationally, it doesn't provide an advantage for the local seller or buyer."

LiveDeal says it has half a million users.

It also offers a fee-based "Buy Now" option powered by PayPal.
