The Professional eBay Sellers Alliance (PESA) met in Las Vegas in October to network, hear industry speakers, and hold elections for its Board.
The group consists of Platinum and Titanium Powersellers, eBay's highest volume sellers. The non-profit trade association formed in 2003 under the name the eBay Elite.
Ecommerce marketplaces and online-auction vendors were allowed to attend the summit, which included panel discussions, roundtables and a cocktail party sponsored by eBay rival Overstock Auctions. The other main sponsors Ethical Technologies and ChannelAdvisor, companies that provide tools to help sellers manage their auction sales.
Other vendors attending included AOL, Amazon, Bizrate, buySAFE, Zoovy, Marketworks, and Vendio.
Attendees came from as far away as Australia. Roundtable discussions addressed marketing, seller scalability and operations, fraud, multi-channel sales, international selling, and "eBay suggestion box."
The Summit also saw the group's first elections. Barry Anderson of eBay seller banderson-at-fuse was re-elected to the Board of Directors. Shelly Hudson of Shoetime was elected to a fourth seat, joining Joe Cortese of Noble Spirit, PESA Founder, and Jonathan Garriss of Gotham City Online, PESA CEO.
