eBay announced late on Wednesday the official launch of eBay Malaysia (www.ebay.com.my), a new localized website for Malaysian buyers and sellers. Malaysian press had reported on the new site several days ago. The website offers online trading in English with item prices listed in Malaysian ringgit. According to eBay's press release, while still in its early stages, online shopping in Malaysia is growing steadily. "Business-to-consumer e-commerce in Malaysia is expected to grow from $1.1 billion to $3.0 billion over the next three years, according to IDC's Internet Commerce Model (January 2004)."
