eBay will modify its End-of-Auction emails and stop sending PayPal Winning Buyer Notification (WBN) emails. The two emails duplicate much of the same information. According to eBay, "many buyers receive both of these emails every time they buy an item, which can cause inconvenience and confusion."

In mid-January, eBay will enhance End of Auction and End of Transaction emails to provide all the details a buyer needs after a listing closes, including the information currently found in PayPal's Winning Bidder Notification (WBN) emails.

eBay sellers will be able to add custom messaging and logos to the new End of Auction emails for all listings in which PayPal is accepted as a payment method. Any custom messaging and logos currently used on WBN emails will also be transferred automatically.

More details about this project, including a preview of the new email, will be available in early January.
