eBay's online payment service PayPal continued its international expansion last week by launching a new PayPal site in Italy, designed for Italian users. The new PayPal site (https://www.paypal.it) is written in Italian, with information customized for Italian PayPal account holders, and enables payments in Euros, the common currency in Italy. PayPal.it will be integrated on eBay Italy in the coming weeks.
"PayPal's expansion in Europe is an important focus for our international growth strategy, which is to follow the eBay footprint around the world," said Mathias Entenmann, vice president of PayPal's international business. "We're excited to bring the PayPal service to Italy, where we've already seen demand from eBay users for a safe, easy and cost-effective online payment solution."
PayPal.it is an entity of PayPal (Europe) Limited. PayPal (Europe) Limited is regulated by the Financial Services Authority in the United Kingdom as an electronic money institution. PayPal enables payments in six currencies: U.S. Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Pounds Sterling, Euros, Japanese Yen and Australian Dollars.
