eBay sellers will be able to offer customers the ability to trade-in items when making purchases on eBay. Infopia announced a new, patent pending Trade-In System for eBay PowerSellers that use its auction-management service.
Infopia said research shows buyers are inclined to increase bids when they see the amount of credit or cash they can receive for trade-ins. The new capability is also designed as an inventory-sourcing tool.
By utilizing an attribute-based database of product information, eBay sellers are able to quickly quote the value of a trade-in. Once the trade-in item is received by the seller, it is then easily listed on eBay. Because the customer creates the initial item in Infopia's software via the trade-in feature on the eBay listing, "companies can save a significant amount of labor dollars associated with item entry and management," the announcement stated.
Titanium PowerSeller Dallas Golf sells pre-owned golf clubs on eBay and reported that using the Trade-In System, it has "capitalized on a new source of inventory, increasing revenue by over 200 percent." Readers can see the system on Dallas Golf's About Me page:
