LaGarde offered Kurant StoreSense merchants a special deal to attract them to its own storefront system after eBay announced it was acquiring Kurant's technology assets.
LaGarde is capitalizing on the fact that eBay would not say how it planned to use Kurant's StoreSense technology. LaGarde issued a press release announcing it would provide significant discounts and migration and setup services to help merchants quickly move their online operations to its StoreFront platform. It stated in part:
"Recent acquisitions of web store technology providers by channel specific vendors such as eBay's acquisition of Kurant and FindWhat's acquisition of Miva have left many online merchants fearful about the future independence of their web store technology."
LaGarde also extended the migration offer to Miva merchants.
