CityXpress Corp. launched eMarketplaceXpress, a stand-alone online classified marketplace for newspapers. The eMarketplaceXpress platform enables newspapers to create free and low-cost online classified marketplaces separate from the newspaper's site of print listings in order to compete directly in their local markets with free-listing services such as craigslist.
eMarketplaceXpress is a self-contained marketplace that includes online ad-taking and payment options, browse and proximity search capabilities, ecommerce functionality to facilitate buyer-seller transactions, and a vendor rating system. Newspapers can also offer value-added features such as multiple photos, priority listings, enhanced displays and vendor profiles. Newspaper groups can also link individual city sites running on the eMarketplaceXpress platform together as part of a larger network.
