AuctionDrop is auctioning a collector's edition copy of the book "Zachary's Ball" on eBay for charity. The popular illustrated children's book written by Matt Tavares has been signed by 19 members of the 2004 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox, making it a one-of-a-kind, must-have item for baseball fans and collectors of all ages. Proceeds from the auction will benefit First Book, a national children's literacy organization that gives new books to children from low-income families.
Members of the 2004 Red Sox who have lent their signatures to the book include: Johnny Damon, Alan Embree, Keith Foulke, Adam Hyzdu, Curtis Leskanic, Derek Lowe, Pedro Martinez, Ramiro Mendoza, Kevin Millar, Doug Mirabelli, Trot Nixon, David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, Dave Roberts, Curt Schilling, Mike Timlin, Jason Varitek, Tim Wakefield and Scott Williamson. As AuctionDrop's announcement states, since members of the 2004 team have moved on to other Major League Baseball clubs in 2005, this collection of Red Sox signatures will never again be replicated.
AuctionDrop is an eBay drop-off consignment service. The charity auction kicked off on April 10 and ends on April 17.
