eBay Trading Assistant SoldontheNet is selling the collection and inventory belonging to Luigi, the 101-year-old owner of Luigi's Objects d'Art Gallery in Florida. SoldontheNet is estimating the value at $2 million, and listed the auction of over 5,000 items with a starting bid of $724,000.
The gallery formerly had two locations in Florida, and the collection now takes up 4500 sq. ft. of storage space. According to Jim Mannella, owner of SoldontheNet, the lot includes over 5,000 items. About 50% of the selection is Asian Art and Antiques, 20% Vintage & Modern Bronzes, and 20% Collectible Plates and Porcelain figures.
Around 50% is modern, produced in the last 35 years, 30% Vintage, and 20% Antiques. There are also display cases, some very expensive, custom made, mahogany from a Palm Beach Porcelain shop, to well over 400 carved teak and other wood stands for stone carvings and vases. Luigi operated the Gallery's main location for 35 years.
The eBay auction requires interested bidders to get pre-approved.
