May 3rd Is Meet eBay Pinks Day

eBay "Pinks" will participate in a number of discussion boards on the auction site on May 3. eBay announced that a number of staff members, aka "Pinks," will be participating in discussions on a variety of boards throughout the day. A small eBay icon is placed next to topic titles in which Pinks participate.

eBay Moderators are called Pinks because of the pink line at the top of their postings to distinguish them from users. (When users are disciplined for something in their posts, it's known in eBay culture as a pink-slap.)

eBay seems to be rolling out a kindler, gentler corporate image this year. Senior managers have been posting personal messages on the Announcement Boards with headshot photographs, and top execs have been participating in audio "Town Hall" style meetings.

To get to the discussion boards, click "Community" at the top of any eBay page, then click "Discussion Boards."
